Lauren
Co-owner of Kayak-Ibiza
Lauren, co-owner of Kayak-Ibiza, was born in Wales and has been living in Spain since her teens and calling Ibiza home since 2010. She has been guiding adventures and managing Kayak-Ibiza since 2016, bringing her passion for the sea and outdoor exploration to every trip. For her, kayaking is all about freedom—connecting with nature, finding peace on the water, and embracing the adrenaline when conditions get exciting!
An experienced guide with top-level certifications, including BCU Sea Kayak Leader, Level II Sea Kayak Technician (the highest in Spain), Yacht Captain, and Beach Lifeguard, Lauren ensures every adventure is both safe and unforgettable. When she’s not paddling, you’ll find her surfing—her biggest passion—hiking, or chasing new adventures with friends. She loves showing guests Ibiza’s wild side, far from the usual tourist spots, where they can truly immerse themselves in nature. Expect laughs, exploration, and epic memories when you join her on the water!
Paolo
In memory of Paolo
Founder of Kayak-Ibiza, Paolo was born on the island and spent over 15 years guiding outdoor activities in Ibiza. He was one of Kayak-Ibiza’s expert guides, and his knowledge of the island was invaluable. Later, he became a partner with Lauren in developing the business, helping it grow with passion, care, and dedication.
Paolo held the highest qualification in Spain for leading sea kayak tours (Level II Sea Kayak Technician from the Spanish Canoeing Federation), and was also a Yacht Skipper, Aquatic Lifeguard, Diploma holder in Guided Sports Activities in the Wild, and a PADI Rescue Diver.
He played a key role in developing sea kayaking on the island and loved sharing his passion with both locals and visitors.
Until his passing on May 21st, 2025, Paolo was studying Agroecology, expanding his knowledge with a deep respect for the natural world.
We will always remember his passion, generosity, and love for the sea and the island. We remember him every time we go to sea, and help keep his passion alive for everyone to enjoy.

Río
My name is Río Abril Zamorano, and I was born in Ibiza, an island I hold close to my heart for the peace and harmony its nature offers. I am passionate about the sea and currently studying Geography and Environment. When I’m not in the water, I enjoy cooking, listening to music, and spending time with my family and friends. I love Ibiza for its diverse landscapes and unique essence, full of history and tradition.
Every corner of its coastline is special, from its crystal-clear waters to its magical sunsets. Guests who join me on a trip can expect an unforgettable experience filled with fun, learning, and lots of laughter. I speak Spanish, Catalan, and English, and I would love to learn more languages. I am a certified Environmental Education Technician, a qualified Lifeguard, and hold certifications in Kayaking Instruction, Scuba Diving, and Boat Handling.
Alex
My name is Alex, originally from Barcelona, although I haven’t lived there for a long time. My passion is teaching, so I’m always on the move between the Pyrenees, where I work as a ski instructor, and Ibiza in the summer, working as a kayak and SUP guide.
I love Ibiza and its hidden spots between the sea and the coast—it’s a place where I can lose myself to find peace.
When I’m not working, I try to travel as much as I can, especially around Asia, where I deepen my spiritual practice through yoga and meditation.
If you join me on one of my tours, I’ll do my best to help you see and enjoy the sea the way I do.
Right now, I speak Catalan, Spanish, and English, and I’m trying to learn French, Italian, and German. So, how about this? I’ll show you the island in a way you wouldn’t expect, and you teach me a bit of your language. Deal?

Marcos
Marcos is passionate about the Pitiusas coastline. He has been paddling these waters for over 13 years and is still discovering new hidden gems along the coast.
He loves sharing with everyone who joins his trips the secrets that the waters of the Pitiusas hold: caves, rock passages, tunnels, natural rock bridges, and more.
At Kayak-Ibiza, Marcos coordinates expeditions, leading groups on the water and overseeing campsites and meals, always focused on making the adventure an unforgettable experience.
When he’s not working, besides paddling solo—which is his true passion—Marcos enjoys exploring the island’s vast trails with his three dogs, soaking in the beauty of nature with them.
Beyond the Pitiusas, Marcos has paddled in Menorca, Mallorca, the Costa Brava, and the Cantabrian Sea. He has also completed safety courses in Scotland, Wales, and England. He holds a Level II Sea Kayak Instructor certification (the highest qualification in Spain) and has extensive experience leading groups on the water.
Arturo
My name is Arturo. Although I was born and raised right in the heart of the Iberian Peninsula, I’ve always felt a deep pull towards the sea. The sense of vastness, the countless shades of blue, the posidonia meadows, and the life teeming within them — all of it stirs in me a profound love and respect that fills me with peace.
I’ve held a Level I Canoeing Instructor qualification from the Spanish Canoeing Federation since 2005. My journey with kayaking has taken many forms: I spent nearly a decade competing in a thrilling team sport called Kayak Polo, before moving on to work as a guide, first on rivers and now out at sea.
The sea offers us endless sensations and chances to learn and reconnect with ourselves — from heart-racing adventures to moments of calm, almost meditative stillness. Would you like to share an experience like this with us?
